Some of the deities beside
Owhurie are Oghoje (Masquerade), Ese Emo, Eni Emo, Orowhare, Ojojo, Oki masquerade,
Okposio e.t.c.
IYERI: The Iyeri festival is
synonymous with the New Year or new yam festival.
ESE MOR AND ENI-EMOR
These are festivals in which the
kingdom expresses thanks to their ancestors i.e their fathers and mothers.
OGHOJE: Is owned by the entire
Kingdom. Also a protective god that usher peace to the Kingdom.
THE OROWHARE
This is celebrated by the people
of Edjeba community of the Kingdom. The deity called Orowhare is a protective
as well as wealth creative deity. It brings wealth, great blessings to the
indigenes and non-indigenes living inside the community. The festival is
biennial. During the festival, the children of the community from far and near
take time off to ensure they are present to witness and share the blessing
which include FRUITHFULNESS in all it ramification.
THE BENEFIT
Besides the earlier mentioned
FRUITHFULNESS, the deity flush out, or wards off crises problem from the
community, it acts as a prospective shield to the indigenes and non-indigenes
who believe in the courses of the deity.
In times of danger, when you call
on his name, the danger will be averted. The faithful adherent of the shrine
can never fall into problems in all their field of endeavour. She has a way of
passing information on her likes and dislike and to whom both the adherent and
the entire community of any coming danger through the chosen one i.e Chief Priest.
THE PERSONNELS:
The deity has a chief priest
called JERRY OTEGHA OBORUME aka the Odjemale-Brako I of Edjeba Community. This
dynamic young chief priest was called to take the mantle in 2004 by the deity
itself. Others are the Amebo of the Oviedjo and other people chosen by the
deity itself.
OJOJO The deity called Ojojo is a
deity of peace, protection and wealth creation deity. This festival is celebrated
by the people of Igbudu. It provide for her adherence wealth without sweat. Her
faithful adherent gain favour in all their field of endeavour. It protect the
community from all forms of aggression. She does not tolerate any act of
uncleanness and unfaithfulness of servant serving in the shrine. The old shrine
was situated at kolokolo ancestral home now Uvwie Local Government Area of
Delta State. The current shrine is at Igbudu water side.
The festival is held for 9 days in
which, different masquerade come to the play ground in a colorful style. The
current chief priest of the deity is Mr. Gift Uwanikone.
